THE STORY
The Zaan privateer Claes Compaen (1600-1650) was a shipowner and captain but claimed he wasn't earning enough. So he continued as a pirate, and in four years, he robbed more than 350 ships. But homesickness continued to gnaw at him. He bought back his immunity through the state and returned to live in Oostzaan. Next to the people he had robbed... A good neighbor is worth his weight in gold!
Kaper | NORTH EAST
Refreshing and juicy. Double dry-hopping gives the beer a passion fruit, lime, and orange aroma/flavor with a subtle bitter aftertaste. It pairs well with cumin cheese and Vietnamese spring rolls.
